We are looking for a talented, experienced and driven health and social care Bid Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will take the lead in creating compelling, winning bids for all Care Sante Group companies. The suitable applicant must have excellent writing and communication skills to ensure we have outstanding bids in place for upcoming tenders. Your role will be to communicate with colleagues across the Care Sante Group and understand each Branch and Service, so that you can effectively translate our service offering into compelling narrative. You will be helping the business to grow by writing bids to win new work and contracts.

Key responsibilities:
- Identify all relevant procurement portals and ensure appropriate registration for all Group companies/branches.
- Monitor portal notifications on a daily basis, considering all incoming opportunities in the context of our Group’s growth strategy (e.g. location, service type, charge rates etc.).
- Capture and track all tendering opportunities and status changes, using initiative and drawing on experience to refine capture tools/methods.
- Be an active participant in all relevant commissioner-led market engagement/pre-procurement provider forums/events (virtually and in person) to influence procurement direction and/or contract model specification.
- Summarise relevant tendering opportunities to present to the Senior Management Team, capturing key operational and commercial information to inform bid/no bid decisions.
- Lead bid/no bid discussions with Senior Management Team.
- Manage clarification questions/responses via procurement portals, reporting key information to wider business as appropriate.
- Accurate completion of all standard selection questionnaires to externally set timescales.
- Develop strong working relationships with operational teams throughout the business.
- Practice excellent information gathering/interviewing skills to elicit anecdotal evidence/case studies from operational teams to inform tender responses.
- Preparation of high quality, evidence-based, compliant tender responses/method statements in line with prescriptive requirements/word counts. that capture key win themes, reflect commissioners’ specifications/requirements, clearly and effectively communicate working practices and associated outcomes.
- Propose and comply with tender response timelines, factoring in senior review time.
- Incorporating Senior Team feedback into final drafts.
- Take an active interest/role in commercial/pricing decisions.
- Compliant, timely submission of tenders via procurement portals.
- Monitoring/responding to any post-submission clarification/further information requests.
- Creation of, and delivery/preparation of other team members to deliver post-submission presentations (virtually/in person).
- Analysis of commissioners’ tender feedback culminating in communication of lessons learned and improvement plans/measures to wider the business.
- Processing contract award notices including collating all post-award information requests e.g. submission of policy documents, accounts, insurance certificates.
- Cross checking contracts issued for signature against terms published within tender packs.
- Manage/monitor contract database for all Group companies/branches, ensuring the wider business is aware of forthcoming contract defends/retenders.
- Creation/maintenance of client case study library, collaborating with local operational teams to identify good news stories.
- Creation/maintenance of bid response directory to support future response creation.
- Maintain well-organised electronic tender filing systems.
- Keep up to date with government and NHS procurement legislative changes.
Requirements:
- Effective time management and workload prioritisation skills.
- Effective, confident communicator able to initiate and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues (all levels), commissioners, external bid consultancies etc.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent command of written English with proven ability to write compelling, concise content per prescriptive requirements, including inflexible word counts.
- Proven history of sole preparation of winning tenders, managing the process end-to-end.
- Self-motivated/self-starter.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Target driven.
- Critical analysis/evaluation skills.
- High degree of computer literacy – Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
- Commitment to ongoing development/refinement of sector-specific technical knowledge.
